Mammut hood at Biennale Internationale Design Saint-Étienne

The Mammut hood, an icon of design by Minacciolo, has been chosen to appear at the 2017 International Design Biennale entitled Working Promesse, being held in Saint-Etienne (France) on 9 March to 9 April 2017.

The exhibition that will feature the hood, called the Panorama of the Mutations of Work, will focus on the theme of how the changing workspace affects design, the home environment and urban and social aspects.

For the Italian company, it is a prestigious acknowledgement achieved not by chance but thanks to constant painstaking work that has characterised Minacciolo products for forty years.

Panorama of the mutations of work

As work is interfering with our personal spheres, our domestic spaces do not escape this hegemonic dynamic. Industrial gestures invite themselves in our homes through the multiple equipment’s that inhabit them, our residencies slowly mutating into industrial terminals. Following this logic, and at the era of the all-digital, the modern and contemporary user builds himself multiple facets: his professional and leisure activities, daily intertwined, make him a mass creator of useful/useless data that participates to a permanently in/visible and global work. This exhibition will unfold a panorama of mutations of work, its emerging forms, to the point of sketching its possible ends or alternatives.
